Martha structured Ill wards and girls’s sewing circles, convincing society females to work with whatsoever they had – including wonderful napkins and tablecloths – to mend garments and make bandages with the troops.  Leaving the comforts of home to aid the troops over the chilly winters, Martha was soon well-known all through the colonies
